COUNTY GOVERNMENT IS COMMITTED TO SUPPORT PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.

Her Excellency the First Lady Scovia Kachapin graced the commemoration of the United Nations International Day for Persons with Disabilities at Alale primary school Special unit.

Different civil societies led by World Vision Kenya, congregated to mark the day under the theme "Transformative solutions for Inclusive Development: The role of innovation in fueling an accessible and equitable world."

Her Excellency promised to partner with all stakeholders in disability sector and other developmental groups through the office of the First Lady to promote and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.

Further, the first lady lauded National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) for providing infrastructural support, cash transfer assistance to persons with severe disabilities and economically empowering the disabled in the county. To demonstrate her support, the first lady donated wheelchairs, crutches and white canes to benefit persons with disabilities.

The First Lady was flanked by Chief Officer for Special programs, Humanitarian Coordination and disaster management, Mrs Lilian Korinyang and Chief Officer in charge of The Executive Office Mr. David Chepelion. Also present were, World Vision cluster manager Mr. Tom Masinde and Assistant County Commissioner Maurice Ogweno and Caroline Menach.
