Governor Simon Kachapin Leads Meeting on Affordable Housing and Markets Projects

Governor Simon Kachapin, accompanied by Deputy Governor Robert Komolle, convened a meeting with the County Affordable Housing Program and Markets Implementation Coordination Committee, chaired by West Pokot County Commissioner Abdullahi Khalif.

The agenda of the meeting revolved around clearing project sites, identifying affordable housing projects sites and overseeing the redevelopment of Makutano market alongside the handover of market sites.

Identified Affordable Housing Program Project sites encompass Bendera, Alale, and Sigor Prisons Lands, while the market program sites include Makutano, Alale, Ortum, and Sigor Markets.

Governor Kachapin stressed the urgency of these tasks, with Deputy Governor Komolle affirming the county government's full support in executing these projects.

The committee informed the governor about their upcoming site visits scheduled for next week, spanning all identified areas, to assess feasibility and initiate necessary actions.

The Affordable Housing Program project aims to furnish citizens with decent and affordable housing, elevate living standards, foster economic growth, and advance social inclusion and urban development.
